See What Reflexology can do for You

Stephanie Greeve:

Working as a Registered Nurse helped me realize the importance of treating a person as a whole rather than their individual systems and symptoms. Our physical bodies, emotional states and spirits connection directly effect each other and should be seen as one system for effective results. Our overall vitality is a result of the balance or imbalance between these aspects of ourselves. My intention with reflexology is to create a healing space for your body, mind and spirt to reconnect and heal. Whether you just need some time for yourself to rest and relax and/or you wish to share your health concerns with a listening ear of a professional, I am here and reflexology can help.

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a non- invasive, relaxing complementary health therapy suitable for all ages and almost all levels of health.

It is based on the principle that reflex points on the feet correspond to different areas of the body. By using the thumbs and fingers and massaging these points, these areas of the body will be targeted and this in turn helps to restore the body’s balance.

The Benefits of Reflexology:

Reflexology is often used alongside conventional care in hospitals, hospices and other healthcare settings, helping to support patients with a range of conditions.

It can help relieve/aid conditions such as:

*Anxiety and tension*

*Boost immune systems*

*Relaxation*

*Improve mood*

*Aid sleep*

*Stress*

*Migraines*

*Arthritis*

Overall, it is a great therapy for revitalizing energy and cleansing the body of toxins and impurities.

Meet Chanel,

"I am a registered massage therapist, and graduate from the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy in 2013. I have been practicing massage therapy for the past 6 years nomadically between Tofino, Golden, and the Sunshine Coast.
As a health care professional, my intentions are to provide a safe and healing space, from a place of compassionate and heart centered care. I am dedicated to helping assist you along your healing journey, where ever you may be on it.
By creating a personalized treatment plan starting with a thorough health history intake, orthopedic assessment, and special testing, we can design short or long term treatment goals that suit your specific needs. Regardless of your presenting condition, I believe in treating the body as a whole. My practice consists of a variety of manual techniques including: myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, trigger point release, muscle energy, stretching, craniosacral therapy, and Feldenkrais fundamentals. I am committed to patient based education and sharing my knowledge of anatomy and physiology to help enhance your own self-awareness. Through personalized home care, including: hydrotherapy, stretching, strengthening, and mindful awareness, together we will find the best modality to encourage your individual self-care routine. I aspire to encourage you and guide you towards maintaining a healthy, active, and pain free lifestyle.
I am beyond thrilled to be joining the team at Tofino Massage Therapy, and look forward to sharing my passion of massage therapy with you!"

two RMTs make waves in Tofino...re-introducing Bree and Amanda

Bree and Amanda offer a more clinical massage experience.  With the broader knowledge and spectrum of techniques, Bree and Amanda add a holistic approach to the body.  Treatments involve a detailed interview/history taking, orthopaedic testing and assessment, treatment, and home care for clients to continue progressing on their own.

Bree graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy, class of 2004, where she obtained a full spectrum of Massage Therapy assessment and treatment skills.  Bree is currently studying and continues to develop her assessment and treatment techniques to fine-tune her palpation skills, enabling her to be more specific and precise. Bree includes structural work (myofascial release and muscle energy techniques, joint mobilizations and craniosacral techniques that help with alignment and restructure holding patterns to improve your biomechanics and you overall function.

Amanda graduated from Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy and continued her education from Ontario.  She includes therapeutic exercise for rehabilitation, health maintenance and injury prevention.  She includes tips for stress management to provide clients with tools to inhibit pain and her assessment allows for progressive treatment.

At Tofino Massage Therapy (TMT) we are eager and committed to apply our knowledge in Massage Therapy to empower our clients in their journey to optimal health.  TMT believes that self observation and neural re-education can improve position (post) and movement (performance) awareness of the body which lead to attaining and maintaining health and balanced life habits.

SPRINGING INTO NEWNESS

It’s feeling like Spring! We have new therapists and new things from the old therapists! We can hardly wait to greet you and get into a treatment plan with you…for the session, for a specific goal, for the lifelong plan!

Bree has had a lot of inspiring experiences that have added tons of flavor-flave to her practice. Craniosacral Therapy, an intensive cervical spine course and being a new teacher for Pie&Lattes, er Pilates, have really shaped her days and the way she approaches clinical work. Amanda commutes from her new diggs to her roles in Tofino and continues to thread her sound and compassionate ways into the clinic happenings.

Both girls are on a heroic pursuit of happiness and well-being. And Tofino Massage Therapy is growing and is polishing its offerings, communication and professionalism because of the great contributions from guests, neighbors, and peers - all cogs of what makes a business work - and we thank you!

The clinic is open 9-9 for the Summer season. Sure hope we see you soon.
